Are you tired of your group's newly created parties feeling like they just met in a bar? Would you like them to feel like they've been adventuring together for months or possibly years? Maybe you want a faster and easier way for your party members to feel connected to the world you've built. Twitch the Fiend's relationship creation system helps your player's characters feel deeper and more connected than ever!
With this system, each player draws two relationship cards and places one on a hex connecting their character to those of their teammates. The other hex they can keep to connect their character to an NPC they encounter in the adventure. If that sounds simple, it's because it is! But you'll be astounded with the incredibly rich and interwoven backstories that result from this system. Don't be surprised if you and your players never want to play without this system again!

One of your players draws two cards from the relationships deck. They choose one of these cards to place in a hex connecting their character with another player's character. They may keep or discard the second hex for use later. Then each player does the same in order, until every character has a relationship connecting him or herself with another character.
Once all characters have been connected in this way, players who discarded their extra card may draw one additional card to replace it. The players may assign the extra cards to friendly or neutral NPCs they encounter in the campaign to further connect their characters to the world they inhabit. Feel free to grant players additional relationship cards as rewards or just as a means to further connect them.
Hardcore Creativity - Players may only draw one relationship card on their turn, instead of two. After relationship creation is over each player draws one card for connecting to an NPC.
Complex Connections - After the final player assigns their relationship card, repeat the process in reverse order. This will make character creation much more complex! Use with caution.
Improv Assignments - Players may assign relationship cards to character that are not their own. While potentially hilarious, not all players will enjoy this method. Use with extreme caution.
